There's been some rumors going around about how they aren't drop safe. Well apparently some rumors are true. Have to wait and see how this plays out.

Interesting test, looked pretty conclusive to me the pistol has safety issues, as well as the guy at 2:00 doing a drop test. Hopefully he is not using live ammo but blanks of some sort.

I didn't see any of the slides moving in relation to their frames to indicate the gun was cycling. Either blank ammo, or what I would use is just a primer in an otherwise empty case.

That's what I figured but in the video they said they used factory ammo. How do you safely drop test a gun with loaded ammo?

They probably pulled bullets from factory ammo. If the primer goes off, it would have shot, but you are safe from the whole projectile mess.
Or, interns

They did not test the Springfield XD or XDM. I decided to conduct my own testing. Not wanting to damage my personal gun I did the drop tests onto an Eddie Bauer Maximum fill down pillow from a height of approximately 12 inches. I can report that the XDM that I own is perfectly safe. I was not wearing shorts and flip flops for the testing.
