I'm looking for a left hand .22 bolt action rifle, preferably a youth model, with iron sights. Savage makes one, but I'm not real impressed with the sights. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Not many choices out there --The CZ 452 "Scout" is a youth sized model -- don't know if its offered in left hand. I do know the full size CZ 452's are offered in left hand versions.

They made the CZ 452 "American" left hand from 2005 thru 2018, but didn't include iron sights. I didn't check CZ for youth models because the left hand has priority. I'm still looking though, thanks.

Found it! I settled on a Savage Mark II GLY. Mainly because it's the easiest to get for the amount of money I'm willing to spend on a kids first rifle (there ARE other, more expensive options). Scheels couldn't get it through their distributors, but they can order direct from the factory. $229.99 plus taxes, can be seen here: www.savagearms.com/content?p=firearms&a=product_summary&s=50702

I know I'm chiming in late here but I bought a B22 savage to run in base class in 2018. Pretty solid gun, didn't play with the iron sights much but I think I gave $198 for it, uses an internal rotary mag much like the 10/22. Stock could be made into a youth-sized stock just by removing the bug butt pad and replacing it with a flat pad.

Maybe it was discontinued. I checked the Savage website & they don't list a left hand B 22.
