NRA Action Pistol Match at Otto Rd Range Saturday, Sept 7 2019. Signups start at 7:30, Safety Briefing at 8:45, Shooting starts at 9:00 AM.
Match Fee is $15.00, second gun $10.00. Juniors accompanied by adult shoot FREE.
Equipment needed: Eye and Ear protection, belt, holster, 200 rounds of ammo. Magazines that hold 12 or more rounds bring four(4), Magazines that hold 11 rounds or less bring 8. Revolvers--bring 8 speed loaders or moonclips.
Targets: NRA AP-1 and 8 inch Steel Plates
The PRACTISCORE program will be used for registration, scoring and results.
Gun Types: Open, Metallic Sights, Production, and Rimfire.
NEW GUN TYPE: Production Optics. The NRA Action Pistol committee has not yet approved Production Optics for sanctioned NRA AP matches--the language has been drafted up and I'm optimistic it will be approved at a later date. However, for club level non-sanctioned matches I'll start including it in the program.
Production Optics:
A Production Optic Pistol (or Revolver) shall meet all the requirements of the Production Division except a non-magnified Optic may be used as follows:
1. The Optic may be attached with an adapter using a factory dovetail.
2. The Optic may be attached using an original factory sight attachment point .
3. The Optic may be attached using an attachment point milled in the slide so long as the attachment point is rear of the ejection port and the milling is only for the purpose of attaching the sight.
Factory or aftermarket plates or adapters may be used to attach the Optic to the firearm.
In all cases, the Optic must reciprocate with the slide.
All skill levels are invited to shoot -- especially new shooters with little or no competition experience. All new shooters will fire the program "short course" which involves shooting the various event stages at 10 and 15 yards only.
Shooting program for the Sept 7 match:
The Moving Target (Modified) 48 shots
The "Texas" Moving Target (48 shots)
"Speedload Challenge" (48 shots)
The Falling Plates (48 shots)
Total of 192 shots--maximum possible score of 1920-192X
For a complete description of each shooting event refer to the NRA Action Pistol rulebook available at this link:
