This law passed in 2005 prevents firearms producers from being sued when someone misuses their product while committing a crime. It’s the same protection applied to every other industry. If Mr. Z drives truck X into a crowd of people, killing many, you can’t sue company X for making a perfectly good, safe working truck.
On Joe Biden's website-- the number one priority on their "gun safety" agenda is to repeal this law -- as they say -- "to end the gun violence epidemic"
If Biden gets in (and let's hope he doesn't) our only hope will be the GOP holds the Senate.
