But Ruger bought Marlin! There is some potential for a silver lining there, I suppose. As for Remington Arms alone, it does seem bleak. They were bought by a real estate holding company from the looks of it.

These few lines at the end of the article kind of says it all to me....very sad to see such an icon of the firearms/ammunition industry fail.
Ultimately, bankruptcy is an opportunity for some to benefit from the missteps of others.
Few could argue there were more missteps at Remington that in a first-day ballroom dance class.
Unfortunately the upper level managers ultimately responsible for the failure seldom pay the ultimate price. They move on.
