When resizing .45 brass, does it need to be lubed when using a carbide die?

The clam is that you don't have to use lube with the carbide dies. I always use lube. For me it makes them easer to size. one thing is, that whether you use lube or not be sure that your brass is clean before you size to prevent grit from scratching the brass. My method is that before I size my brass, I place the brass in one of the bags that woman wash their delicates in and wash the brass with some old towels ( I would advise you, don't mention this to your wife)when they are done I then I spread them out side on an old towel to sun dry. If it is winter I place them on a cookie sheet in the oven set on warm, or 150 deg. Then do the sizing and belling before I tumble them. Hint: place a couple of used dryer sheets in with the media and they will pick up the dust from the media as you tumble them. this is probably more information then you wanted good luck wychild

I do not lube but cleaning cases is essential. Somewhat similar to wychild, I use a universal decap die first, then I put my brass into a plastic container with plain water and a small amoount of dish soap. I let them soak for 24 hours, rinse and put them straight into the vibrator with walnut hull media. I found the soaking deprimed cases and immediate vibrating cleans the primer pockets pretty well. After about two hours in the vibrator without the top on to let the moisture escape the cases are ready for priming and reloading. I try to keep the amount of time I spend on cases to a minimum but also like having nice clean ammunition, especially for use in a semi auto.

My Brass Goes From The Range To The Tumbler, Then Through The Dillon Square Deal B. Repeat As Necessary. About 10k Rounds A Year, No Problem.

I also do not lube, unless i get range brass then i decap first then run it through stainless steel media in a thumblers tumbler. Then i will lube because i want to make sure if it was fired out of a glock i want the bulge gone.So i lube then run through a lee factory crimp die back to factory specs then i know i have good brass.Good clean brass no i dont lube.
