Earlier this week I went to Sportsmans Warehouse for corncob tumbling media & the CHEAP stuff was $4 a pound ($18 for 4.5 pounds). I remembered someone elses forum post & went home to check Grainger.com for blasting media. Sure enough, item number 2MVR5, FOURTY POUNDS of 20-40 grit corn blasting media for $39.00! I picked it up this morning & it’s actually finer than I expected but both of my tumblers are running now & we’ll see how well it works. The next larger grit is 14/20, I may try that next time.

Good job, anxious to hear how it turns out.

The fine media puts a beautiful polish on brass that's in good shape, but doesn't do as well as I'd hoped for a deep clean. Next time I'll get the 14/20 grit. Until then, I'll just add some more brass polish & let it tumble an extra couple hours.

Update 6 months later: It turns out that I like the finer grit better because it doesn't get jammed up in the primer pockets. I initially added a little more brass polish than I used to & it's doing a beautiful job.
