KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND
One of those basic firearms safety messages that we hear time and time again. Now I am not saying true accidents don't happen. However shooting an antelope by accident, I can't even begin to think how this could happen. For those who do not know, an antelope is reported to have been shot on the Otto Road Shooting rifle range. This comes after I took a walk on the state trust land west of the Otto Rd shooting range last week. The place is trashed more now then before the restriction on recreational shooting. What is going on with some shooters, even members of clubs are not immune to acts of stupidity. Tables turned over for target stands? Shooting bottles? Paint cans full of paint, shot and left behind ! Trash left for someone else to pick up. Not to mention the abuse the National Forest takes from recreational shooters, oh wait, not recreational shooters, idiots with guns. What these idiots with guns do not seem to understand, hence the idiot label, is the more they exercise their right to be stupid the more power they give the anti gun movement to restrict the lawful and responsible use of firearms. Sorry for the rant, just needed to say something.
