About 6 or 8 weeks ago I quit using my Thunder Beast (TB) 30-P because I noticed my groups opening up when I used it. Looking in the threaded end, it was crusty with carbon & the back baffle was no longer round. Today I finally took it in to TB & asked if it could be repaired after pointing out the "erosion". William (TB wizard) said it was actually carbon & copper build-up and proved it to me by weighing the supressor. A new 30-P weighs 16 ounces & mine was 24.5 ounces (he's seen them up to 32 ounces!). TB will clean a customers supressor for FREE once a year. He explained that the only way of getting the crud out is by soaking the can in CLR and it could take as long as 2-3 MONTHS to get clean. They will then repaint it & call when it's done. He also said you can do your own maintenance cleaning by soaking it yourself in CLR over night every 500 to 1000 rounds fired. WARNING! CLR can be used for other carbon cleaning projects, such as on your AR bolt & bolt carrier, but it will CORRODE the steel if left on too long.
