The 2017 "Silver Bullet" NRA Action Pistol "Approved" Tournament will be conducted on Feb 25 and 26 at the Rawlins, WY Recreation Center Indoor Shooting Range. This has been an annual event for over 25 years, its a lot of fun with a good prize table. The Rawlins Recreation Center Indoor Range is 25 yards, climate controlled, clean and well maintained facility. This match is NRA "Approved" which means it does not qualify for award of NRA Distinguished Points or NRA National Records. They have permission from NRA to modify the rulebook--centerfire handguns only two divisions--Open and Limited. Open allows guns with Optics. Limited is for guns without optics. Course of fire is: Practical: (48 shots) Targets are NRA AP-1 for 10, 15, 25 yard stages. Reduced size AP-2 used at 50 feet to simulate the 50 yard stage. Los Alamitos: (42 shots) Targets are NRA AP-1 for 7, 10, 25 yard stages. Combat: (60 shots) NRA B-18 target used for 7 and 25 yard stages. Reduced size B-24 target used at 50 feet to simulate the 50 yard stage. Falling Plates: (48 shots) targets are 8 inch synthetic plastic plates which fall down when hit. (Plastic used in lieu of steel for safe shooting indoors) Schedule: Saturday: Fire the Practical, Los Alamitos and Combat Courses. Then there is a door prize dinner.
